We have one full week of practice behind us. Great job to all our swimmers! We have some important announcements for upcoming events.

The Annual Car Wash and Bake Sale Fundraiser is this Friday June 13th 5-8pm

For our new Piranhas, the car wash and bake sale is our biggest (and only) fundraiser of the season. Swimmers and their families have a blast washing and drying cars in the parking lot and there is a table selling all the amazing baked goods that Piranha families donate.

All swim practices will be held as usual in the lap pool. (So if you have a swimmer in the 6-6:30 practice, please sign up to wash cars at a different time.) Please use the SwimTopia RSVP and Job Signup buttons to sign up to wash cars and/or donate baked goods. For safety, all swimmers under 10 need to have an adult present during their car washing shift. https://springlakeswimming.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

Time Trials will now be Wednesday June 18th

Warm ups: 4pm for 9-18 yr olds; 4:30pm for 8 & unders.

The meet will begin promptly at 5pm. We will likely finish around 7 (ish) depending on the number of swimmers.

We understand that folks have work/camps/etc. If you can’t get to the pool in time for warm-ups it is okay. Please still come and swim! Yes, there is still regular morning practices that day.

What are time trials? Time trials are a chance for all Piranhas to swim in meet conditions and get their times recorded for each event. The times will be used to organize swimmers into heats at the first swim meet. This is also great practice for our novice swimmers.

Bad Weather: Yes, the weather this time of year is hard to predict, especially right now with afternoon practices. An email will be sent to swim team members if we are cancelling practice and it will be posted on SwimTopia. The pool will send a text to all members if the pool is closing due to weather. FYI, it takes pretty bad weather for the entire pool to close. We try to cancel as few practices as possible and sometimes that takes us into "wait and see" territory. We understand if you don't want to get ready for the pool just to have practice cancelled by a roll of thunder. Don't worry no one is taking attendance. We will do our best to make the right decision in a timely manner.

Registration is Closing: If you know someone who is on the fence or has been waiting to register–please tell them today is the day! The registration form will be taken down so we can finalize our roster to submit to CMSL (Central Maryland Swim League).
