Home Meet FYIs:

Entries: You can check your swimmer’s events on SwimTopia. Entries will be finalized Friday.

Set-Up: Springlake sets up on the far side of the pool. The area around the baby pool is for the visiting team. Please see picture below. Set-up is on a first come first serve basis. Please be respectful of other people's things and do not move anyone else's items without their permission. Remember we are all on the same team!

Lap Pool: The lap pool will open around 10 am for swimmers to warm-up and cool-down. NEVER use the lap pool without a lifeguard. No horseplay- we do not want swimmers to miss their events because they are playing in the lap pool. The baby pool will be closed for the duration of the meet.

Swim Suits: Bathing suits for swim meets need to be one piece competition style for girls (no ruffles, etc.) and jammer or brief style for boys. No jewelry or watches may be worn for meets.

Pavilion: The Pavilion is set up for tech, table workers, the announcer and concession stand. Please drop off any concession stand donations when you arrive. During swim meets the pavilion is not used for seating, eating, or ping-pong.

Piranha Pride: Remember the visiting team is our guest. Please show your Piranha Pride and good sportsmanship at all times. Part of being a Piranha is being a good sport and sometimes that means rising above petty behavior. If there are any issues during the meet please see Springlake swim team reps Erin Parks and Amy Karastamatis. Any complaints must go through the swim team reps, not the officials on deck.

There are also several important things that the coaches want to pass along to parents ahead of meets. At a meet:

  • Absolutely no phones or cameras behind the blocks. This includes areas off to the side but still technically behind the block. Would you want a picture taken of you bent over in a swimsuit??? Nope and CMSL doesn't want them either. Keep your phones in your pockets if you are behind the blocks! This drives some officials crazy and has been a big problem in the past that has caused delays.
  • Quiet at the start. Officials will wait if it isn't quiet at the start of a heat. This will delay a meet.
  • No parents on the deck. Coaches, officials, and timers on the deck only. Everyone else behind the ropes. If you want to be on deck sign up to be a timer :-)
  • Don't leave before relays. If your child is on a relay please do not leave before the relays. Coaches probably won't be able to fill the spot and three other swimmers won't get to swim the event.
  • Our concession stands accepts CASH and VENMO so plan accordingly. If you have never been to one of our home meets, get ready! Our Roadkill Grill serves the most delicious breakfast and lunch so come hungry!
  • We need volunteers at all meets. Home or away we need your help. Please don't make us beg. We still need help and no experience is necessary (Especially Roadkill Grill and 2nd half Kiddie Roundup) and will be sending out emails if you haven't signed up yet so please signup before we have to email. We only have 2 home meets this year so please help!
  • Stay safe in the sun and heat. It’s summer and we will be outside–please bring water, sunscreen, hats, etc. for you and your swimmers.

Please sign up to volunteer now if you haven't already!
